Poseidon actually survived the war without severe damage, due to his holding back from the front lines to participate in support services. It was budget cuts that killed him shortly after the war, when the imperial government sold Poseidon into slavery to a large amber firm. Unfortunately, he then drops out of the historical record, but scholars are skeptical that he ever regained freedom.
