I was a little disappointed by lack of deleted comments. It's just not /r/Askhistorians unless half the comments have been deleted. And to make matters worse, much of that was the denial of the air nomad genocide. I am personally appalled at the mods for allowing such blatant lies to spread.

I know that this is too early to ask but are there any plans to do this again next year on April Fool's Day? Today was quite the blast if nothing else then to kick back and relax for a few hours. It felt very nice to see the sub on a sort of mini-vacation from the academic atmosphere that otherwise dominates this place. Thanks for everything, today was a blast.

I know there are some that really didn't enjoy what you guys did yesterday. I thought it was great fun though.

In fact, I would say it counts as one of my finest Reddit moments when I was actually able to post in here. I am not joking when I say even though I knew it was allowed, I was almost too nervous to post.

You mods and posters do a great job 364 days a year keeping this in the top 3 highest quality subs on Reddit (imo). I lurk here frequently though do not have nearly enough knowledge in anything to post so to be able to "brag" that I have almost 100 upvotes in AskHistorians almost made me swoon (yeah, I have no life, deal with it).

Thanks for a really fun day and even when you guys are joking, you still maintain a great sub.

This was beyond hilarious. History and fantasy -- two of my favorites!

Its a shame the tons of questions got murdered via downvotes before they had a chance.

I woulds just like to ask the moderators if they have any plan to delete all of the fantasy posts after April Fools is over? I share in the idea that this is all hilarious, and an amazing thing to be a part of. However I would like to express concern that when attempting to search for legitimate information, after today, the serious posts may be cluttered by the highly upvoted joke posts. Reddit's search function is bad enough as-is, and I trust the mods have some idea as to this - but I would like to voice it publicly.

Absolutely delighted I posed a relatively successful(?) question. It's been an awesome break from slaving away at my dissertation (NB if anyone happens to ask anything about jazz history, in particular 1959, I may well hope to answer if that's okay despite only being a final year undergraduate music student). Thanks to everyone - the standard's always high. I love it here.

Turning the entire sub over to April Fools was a bit of a gamble but it's been a great day or so. I'm slightly disappointed that I wasn't able to take part (stupid work) but scanning through these submissions has cheered me up no end.

So congrats to the mods for pulling this off so successfully. (And for their hilarious new flairs.)

I think a general "AskFictionalHistorians" subreddit that covers all fiction in general would be good than just soley dedicated to a genre.

Much like Menudo, the lineup has changed considerably over the years. The original ArchDuke was indeed assassinated by Gavrillo Princep (who pleaded, in his defense, that he was only obeying the Archduke's imperative to 'Take Me Out". After all, he had told the Serbs "I'm your villain" and also that he was "Evil and a Heathen". Well, Eleanor (Eleanor Roosevelt) did indeed put her boots on, and with Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, she helped the group to leave the dark of the matinee, consoling the bereaved bandmates by reminding them that "you could have it so much better". For a while it looked like they were outsiders who would leave together and fade away. Many critics thought that Franz Ferdinand was the fallen. But then they did dream again, saying "No you girls", this is "what she came for". Now, with the Universe expanded, they stand on the horizon.

I laughed.

This was, by far, the most fun of all the takeovers today. I'm happy I was able to get in on it and had a decently upvoted submission.
