I have an idea for a novel that takes place around the era, but I want to get a real good feel for the time. Are there any resources the good people at askHistorians could bestow on me? The locations my characters will visit will be Vienna, Munich, and Berlin.
You're getting into the deepest of waters in literary terms, simply because so many bizarre and unlikely bedfellows were never crammed together in such a small space and time as they were there. It's too much to get into in a reddit comment, but I believe Musil's "The man without qualities" would give you a great start.
