Just wondering why doctors and nurses take 24 hour shifts. It seems like that should have died out during the labor reform movement around the early 20th century.
Nurses in the US don't do 24 hour shifts. In Colorado, and probably most states, it's a violation to work more than 16 outside of a natural disaster or something. Most hospitals do have 12 hour shifts which are awesome. Having four days off a week is pretty amazing.
