We always hear about the Ottoman Empire continually expanding, but how about its territorial losses? Specifically in the 16th century? Did they lose any land, and if so, what were the reasons?

The Venetians captured the Peloponnese in Greece from the Ottomans during the Morean War (1684–1699). They mostly succeeded as the Ottomans were very busy with the Great Turkish War (1683–1699) with the Holy League at the time. The Ottomans later recaptured it in in 1715. The combined forces of the Holy League proved too much for the Ottomans to handle and they lost a lot of territory all over the place. I refer to wikipedia for the details.

The Russo-Ottoman war (1686–1700) just fits into your timespan.

The Russians won is decisively, and took control of Moldavia and Bucharest and the fortress of Azov. They actually threatened Constantinople at one point, but other European powers didn't want to see the Ottomans totally defeated so pressured the Russians into withdrawal.

The peace treaty ended up ceding Moldavia to the Habsburg Empire, while the Russians gained Black Sea ports and the Crimean Khanate became a Russia protectorate.
