What is known about the people making photographic pornography in the Victorian Era? Are the identities of any of the photographers or models known?

Lots of pornographic images were produced in the early era of photography (1840-1860). Interestingly, I don't know of hardly any verified American erotic daguerreotype from the period (maybe just a couple possibly American unidentified ones I can think of). The vastly overwhelming majority were produced in France, and often by well-known esteemed studios. Check out this gallery for a few examples. Note the ones by respected photographers like Duboscq. However, I don't know of any identified models, though you will often see the same models in multiple images. Here is the wikipedia page on the noted erotic photographer Auguste Belloc, and some of his images were in that gallery there.

Just for a fun example, here is a beautiful daguerreotype from France around 1850, obviously the daguerreotypist was quite a skilled artist! So just judging by the quality of many of the elaborately hand colored erotic stereo-daguerreotypes produced in France, these were certainly expensive productions by noted photographers.
