Excluding Wikipedia, I am looking for a internet resource where I could learn more about different ancient civilizations, world events, religions.
I recently found http://www.theartstory.org which is a great resource for beginner Art Historians, can anyone recommend a quality resource for beginner historians?

go on amazon and think up a section of history you want to know more about and buy 2-3 books by different authors on the subject. Gives you a wider range of views and facts.
