I will try to answer your question about what life was like in Denmark under the Germans.

First off Germany had no real want to rule Denmark with an Iron fist and since Denmark was so weak and taken so quickly the Danes were willing to cooperate at first. Because of this there was an awkward period of Totalitarian and Democratic co-operation. This can be seen by the fact that in 1943 Denmark held elections and the Democratic Parties won the majority. Following this election the Danes became increasingly dissatisfied with the German Occupiers and led to a series of strikes in the Summer of 1943. In August the Germans decided to remove the Danish government and Declare Denmark in a state of emergency. This meant that Denmark was now controlled by the German Foreign Ministry. In the following Summer more strikes were held and the Danish police force was dissolved and German anti-terror forces were brought in to create peace.

As for the liberation of Denmark it was technically the British and Montgomery on May 5th 1945 but the Russians occupied the island of Bornholm which was not fully liberated until the Russians left it in 1946.
