Do you think that the attacks committed by organizations like ASALA and JCAG play a role in Turkey's denial or the Armenian Genocide?
Some role, but no more than that. Genocide denial had been woven into Turkey's collective's psyche well before those two groups shot the first bullet. Like everything else, the attacks provided Turkey with much needed excuse.
No clear answer. Sociologist Fatma Müge Göçek argues that it did (see her chapter in A Question of Genocide by Suny/Göçek/Naimark) while historian Fatma Ülgen traces the denial back to Mustafa Kemal (her article, "Reading Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the Armenian genocide of 1915," can be found online).
