The largest would be most likely Yorktown. In 1862 during McClellan's lethargic advance up the Peninsula towards Richmond and the Confederate's under Magruder and later Joe Johnston held up the tentative Union forces fro about a month from April to May as the Union forces settled into a siege.

Eventually the Confederate's retreated under the cover of night and fortified new lines near Williamsburg.
