Articles and Primary Sources on Mesopotamian Law

by quetzal1234

I'm looking for good sources on Mesopotamian Law. I'm specifically looking for articles published in the last 10 years that might be of interest.

I was also wondering if anyone here had experience working with tablet databases online. I'm looking for primary source cases, and I find the websites a bit obtuse.

It depends a bit what you're looking for, especially in terms of periods, region, or type of documents, most of the literature is fairly specialised.

For original sources such as legal codes, M. Roth: Law Collections from Mesopotamia and Asia Minor (2nd ed. 1997) is still reasonably up-to-date.

A good general overview with further literature (albeit more than 10 years old) is R. Westbrook (ed.): A History of Ancient Near Eastern Law (2003).

I can also help with databases and/or primary sources if you're interested.
