I am looking for information regarding my grandfather. I have never met him and I know little beyond his name and birthday. I am curious to know about his time served in the Korean War with the 11th Airborne Division. This has always been part of my life that has remained a mystery and I would love find out more. If you know of any resources, books, documents, friends/family, I would be greatly appreciative of your help. My mother once mentioned a book that had the names of every soldier who fought in the Korean War, does this book exist? If so is there anyway that I could get a copy for her? I just need a little help with resources and tools for my research.

My suggestion would be to look him up in the 1940 census (and if he was born prior to 1930, look him up in the 1930 census as well). I use www.familysearch.org for my genealogy research (the website is free to use. They do provide some scanned documents such as the censuses but they ask for you to log onto the website. Having an account is free too).
As to his service in the Korean war, you do have a good lead on information, but I'm thinking that you may have difficulties finding info on that. Most of the information on Korean war veterans during that time are POWs, AWOLs, and/or KIAs.
I would suggest looking into the area that your grandfather grew up/lived in to see if they have newspaper archives that you can search (also check Google's newspaper archives too).
If you are looking for a gravesite location, check www.findagrave.com it is a virtual cemetery database where volunteers take pictures of headstones and transcribe what is on the marker, or transcribe the burial records or obituary listings. It's a nice way of knowing where your ancestors are buried.
