The wiki article states that historian and forensic anthropologist, Luis del Campo, who studied King Sancho VII of Navarre's mortal remains, affirms that he was 2.23 metres (7.3 feet) in height.
Wouldn't that make him the tallest monarch in history? Or were there monarchs taller than him?

Anyways what surprised me was that he lived to be nearly 80 years old despite his huge height.
While Manute Bol's grandfather was not a monarch but a tribal chief was 7'10"
The wiki doesn't give a source for that precise figure and Luis del Campo is quoted elsewhere as saying he could have been 'nearly seven foot' so I'm dubious.
There's a claim that the 3rd century Roman Emperor Maximinus Thrax was over eight feet tall (eight feet six inches, which, translated from Roman to US customary units, might be about eight feet three inches, or 2.5m metric) . However, while all sources claim Maximinus Thrax was pretty big, the particular figure claiming over eight feet comes from the notoriously unreliable Historia Augusta.
When English traveler and archeologist Austen Henry Layard visited Montenegro he wrote that their ruler Petar II Petrović-Njegoš was seven and a half feet (228cm) tall.
However by measuring his bones scientist Dr Božina Ivanović estimated that Njegoš was between 191.56 cm and 193.44 cm.
In other words how sure are we about any historical records of people's size, especially if we are talking about royals.
