Some interesting family history of mine came out recently and my great-grandfather had multiple wives at the same time. My aunt was trying to explain how their rank meant different things like, "the first wife is the one you have children with, the 2nd is the one that you take out to fancy events..." Or something like that. And one of them seemed to never be able to leave her room. Any insight?
