I'm coming to ask you how you would rate the video series "Real Crusades History" on YouTube.

I'm going to admit right up front that in terms of the Crusades I am Muslim and therefore tend to lean towards the side of sympathizing with the Muslims. That being said, I attempt to stay as fair sided as possible. I fully accept that neither side is blameless and both the Muslims and Christians have justifications for their actions during the Crusades.

However, as someone who considers themselves a student of history (minored in it in college) I have found myself literally being driven up the walls by this particular video series. Along with misinterpreting key aspects of the Islamic religion (I feel), the author of these videos also makes claims that I feel are completely unsubstantiated or unprovable.

Multiple times these videos claim that Christendom was left with no option except to start a Crusade, "either fight, or be destroyed." The author goes on to state in another video that had the Crusades not taken place America would not exist today.

In short, I feel that there is a clear and heavy bias. Which, is fine if by reading facts the author comes to on their own. But what makes my blood boil is that they are presenting these biases in their videos and is marketing them as teaching tools.

That is why I am here. I want to settle this once and for all and turn this over to a third party. I am asking that someone knowledgable in this area review this series and let me know what they think. Is this a reliable series? Is my bias clouding my judgement? Why or why not?
