So, two things have become apparent to me recently:

1. When talking about pre-colonization Native American cultures, a lot of us Neo-Europeans tend to either romanticize or dismiss their history to ridiculous levels without knowing what we're talking about

2. I'm not any better myself, even though I think there's a lot of value in knowing the history of your land.

So I'm trying to fix that second thing, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to start. I want to get a sense of how things worked in most of tribal North America before the plagues, but there are so many individuated cultures and factors to cover that I feel like what I'm absorbing is just a bunch of tidbits which, while interesting, are fairly useless to my understanding of these cultures out of context.
