By this I am meaning the armbands/patches, e.g. the Star of David for Jewish people, the purple triangle for Jehovah Witnesses and the pink triangle for gay people.
What would happen if, for example, a gay Jewish man was interned in a camp? Was there a scale for which was more important to be indicated?
Unless I'm mistaken, Jewish people had the Star of David (as you mentioned), but its color was different depending on what they ALSO were. Therefore, a gay jewish man would have a pink star.
Though that works for a jewish man, I don't really know what would happen if, for example, someone were a gay-jewish-handicapped person. So I'll wait for someone else to also comment on this, since my knowledge on the subject isn't the best (I'm more specialized in Medieval history, not on WWII).
