Well, to a degree this is true since warfare only really exists in the first place after the development of agriculture (and therefore private property) and the development of states who could monopolize and organize violence and leverage it against other groups of people who would fight back in a similar way. Certainly there was violence for all of human history, but the first instances of warfare as an organized effort is really only a product of agricultural states (so a result of the last ~7000 years of so). Of course, this doesn't remain true forever, but the origins of warfare are firmly on the backs of sedentary agricultural states.

Now, if there is any correlation beyond warfare being mostly exclusive to the kinds of societies with these technologies (and I'm including cities and state organization as a "social technology" here that required development), I can't say. Consider that warfare itself is a technology of sorts, or at least ideas about how to conduct and organize war, that needed to be developed (and perhaps is still being developed?).
