I don't know if this is the right sub for this, but I was wondering about it after reading about how life expectancies in past centuries were skewed by high infant mortality rates.
No--the lower life expectancy exists in countries where there is no military. For example, Japan, which has the least violent deaths per capita of any country still shows a longer life expectancy for women. Women's life expectancy is 87.3 and men's is 85. That said, women's life expectancy has increased dramatically with access to modern medicine. In 3rd world countries, 1 in 7 women die in childbirth.
