On "Mad Men," a British character goes to an immigrant pub in Manhattan to watch the 1966 World Cup. Would this have been possible? What network was airing it and why?

I know Wikipedia isn't regarded as a proper source, but... NBC broadcast the 1966 final with a two hour delay in the US.
