I'm just generally interested in him and his effect in U.S. foreign policy, I'm looking for something that gives a general fair look into his life.

I think any discussion of Kissinger would be remarkably incomplete without a mention of "Diplomacy" by the man himself (sorry mobile formatting). While not an analysis of Kissinger himself, it is extremely enlightening with regards to his approach to foreign policy and diplomacy.
In the book, he offers a broad historical overview of diplomacy in Europe and the Americas and through that analysis, you can see his thought processes and various methodologies. The latter sections focus (as I recall) on his views regarding his decisions while in office and their effects, etc.
Excellent read!
I can't tell you about the books.. But there's a great interview & documentary about him on Netflix.
