How directly did Germans control the local and provincial government? What sort of troops were there? How did they treat the non-French ethnic groups?
And what did the resistance look like in Algeria? How connected was it to the resistance groups back in the motherland? And did Arabs and Berbers take part?
If I remember correctly, Germany did not have control over Algeria. However, whether it was controlled by Vichi France or someone else entirely, I don't know.
