Probably not the most distant, but Henry Tudor (Henry VII, father of Henry VIII) of England wasn't really directly in the line of succession. Richard III also wasn't in the direct line of succession- even if he'd believed that Edward IV's children were illegitimate, his brother George's children should have taken precedence over him (unsurprisingly, Henry VIII did away with those children). The War of the Roses set some odd precedents that didn't necessarily align with accepted ideas of the lines of succession.
