What I mean by this is how much colonization has changed their culture and lifestyle immediately after, did they continue to live mostly the same way as before for some time? Did they use the same architecture as their ancestors, or adopt a more European style? If their culture didn't change much, when did it start adopting European elements on a bigger scale?
Is there any paparticular group/region you're interested In? The experience of the Che people in Chile, who resisted Inca and Spanish invaders for centuries, was cert different than that of a Mexica peasant.
