I had just gotten to thinking about what marked the beggining of Anno Domini (AD). BC means before Christ but now that historians prefer to use BCE (before the common era) it made me curious.
Thanks for any answers or visibility upvotes
Originally Common Era was just an alternative name for Christian Era-which was the same as Anno Domini. The Common Era title has been around for a while but has only increased in use more recently as a secular way for scholars to express historical dates.
