I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as the actual historians in this sub, but if you want to learn more about George I'd highly recommend His Excellency: George Washington by Joseph J. Ellis. It was a really good, easy read that covers the entirety of his life. One of the interesting points I remember (dumbed down because I don't remember too well, I'm sure someone else can expand) was that Washington felt his acquaintances in Britain looked down on him and his American peers, especially when it came to business. Washington had an acquaintance (one or a few I can't remember) in Britain who he would use as purchasers and importers for things he couldn't get in the colonies, or things he felt that owning would help his standing among his peers. As time went on he felt he was paying more and receiving increasingly inferior product, which made him feel as if he was being exploited. This was Pre-Revolution.
