First you will almost certainly have your feet bound painfully as a child. Then you will likely be betrothed to a future husband in your teenage years. Your future husband will most likely be part of a land owning gentry class as well -- ideally at least an examination candidate if not a degree holder. When you are wedded you will move into your husband's house, which likely includes a larger extended family.

Whether the marriage itself is a happy one or not of course largely depends on the personalities involved not unlike today. Your rights unfortunately are curtailed relative to men. Theoretically you can only file for divorce if you've suffered disfiguring abuse or actual enslavement, while you could theoretically be divorced for light infractions. If your husband were to pass early you were expected to avoid remarrying (and the government might subsidize your household to promote your chastity).

Otherwise it's likely your husband will be away from home for extended periods of time. Luckily for you, you are most likely literate and well educated. You might pass your time writing poetry, prose, or drama, and trading correspondences with other educated, respectable women. You are an active participant in the artistic and cultural life of town and city, and if you're especially talented you might even get your work published for a mass audience.
