Most of the Titanic survivors had died by the time of the film. When the film by James Cameron was released in 1997, there were 7 survivors left. Most were old, in assisted living facilities and/or were in poor health and there are no records of them seeing the film. I have found claims of Eleanor Johnson Shuman attending the prescreening, however, I cannot find a source for such claims and her reaction/thoughts on the movie.¹

There is a film, "A Night to Remember" (1958) which was based on the book by Walter Lord (1955) and this is esteemed to be more historically accurate by historians and survivors.²
