At the Canadian Allied Forces museum in Groningen there are two RAF staff cars. One in regular blue, one in desert tan. Why were they different hand drive?

Back story, I was at the museum for Canadian Allied Forces in Groningen, the Netherlands this week. They had a whole lot of vehicles on display (and that's about it), however, I noticed something peculiar about the RAF staff cars (I want to say Pergeot 402's, but I'm probably wrong).

One was for use in Britain, was navy blue, and was right hand drive. The other was painted in desert tan and was left hand drive. It's been bugging me all week, and I can't believe I didn't take a picture.

Was this a result of perhaps one being produced in North America and was built as left hand drive? Or did they just buy any ol' car after the war and paint it in desert tan and think nobody would notice?

It can be so many possible reasons.

My suggestion would be to contact the museum with the email address that is listed at the bottom. Ask why the tan (desert) RAF staff car is different than the other RAF staff car. The museum staff/director would be the best source to provide such information on your question.
