The one event I can think of is the Battle for Castle Itter near the very end of the war. Capture soldiers from the regular German army helped American soldiers defend the Austrian village of Itter from a fanatical SS Panzer division.
This was 5 days after Hilter committed suicide and 3 days before Nazi Germany surrendered.
