I know it was a gradual process, but I'm really interested in knowing exactly how much actual power they had a various points in history. What were some of the turning points in the gradual transfer of power to Parliament? When was the last point at which a British King or Queen could have actually ruled Britain in a meaningful sense? Could Victoria have ruled, had she the ambition and desire to?
