I am trying to find information on how to Chouans and Vendeans reacted to Napoleons return from Elba. After his exile and re-conquering back to the throne as Emperor what did the Chouans and Vendeans think of this?
Any sources on this would be fantastic.
Thank you
They pretty much revolted immediately, just like during his days of the Revolution.
It was General J M Lemarque that put down the rebellion during Napoleon's 100 Days campaign. You will find references in Jean Chandler's book on his Waterloo campaign. (I can't remember off the top of my head where though...)
