I've heard a lot that there is actual proof outside of the bible (which isn't really a reliable source) but i haven't found any of this and the curiosity is killing me.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
which isn't really a reliable source
I really do hate this disqualifier--for several reasons.
It's not at all correct.
It's based on post-biblical hermeneutic of what would come to be the New Testament.
There's no reason to discount it in such a holistic fashion on the basis of ideology (or distaste for other ideology).
It only really developed as a function of the mythicist school in 1st c. CE Levantine studies--which Bart Ehrman has already taken to task in one of his more recent books.
