I'll speak about Lady Montague specifically because I recently wrote a paper on it. A few things:

A) Montague was only writing on the condition of Ottoman Women in bath houses. This is a facet of life very much separate from normal Ottoman life.

B) Its believed that Montague exaggerated on the condition of the bath houses as to make a statement on Europe's treatment of women. Throughout her writing she makes these grand exaggerations and immediately compares it to Britain. She for example she looks at the naked woman and talks about how free they are, while her Corset a prison, but when she sees women covered from head to toe she talks about how enlightened and free they are from men. Some say it was all a lie. British author travelling the Empire about a century later wrote “I should be unjust did I not declare the I witnessed none of that unnecessary and wanton exposure described by M.W Montague [sic]” Julia Pardoe . Another small example, in her book Ottoman Women: Myth and Reality, Sancar writes “Montage presented the women as naked because they fit into her commentary better that way as a statement against the unnaturalness of Catholic attitudes in Britain towards female sexuality”. I don't know why she wrote Catholic but thats a direct quote.
