Why Hungary exactly? The Hungarian holocaust was carried out by a puppet government under Nazi control (the Germans invaded Hungary in 1944). What parallels are you looking for? The Hungarian holocaust was a part of the much larger Nazi holocaust, thus it was the same systematic killing lead by Adolf Eichmann. I am no expert on the Rwandan genocide, but from a few readings it is obvious that that it was radically different from the Holocaust. It was the result of decades of ethnic tension between the Hutu and the Tutsi people, exacerbated by many factors such as Belgian colonial rule. The way it was carried out is also radically different. Local Hutu militia armed with machetes and whatever guns they could find would roam their local area and kill Tutsis.

I would definitely appreciate if someone who knows more about Rwandan history would elaborate on this.
