More specifically, did German soldiers shoot at Ally (Allie?) medics during the Normandy invasion? I imagine it was hard not to, with all the chaos and frenzy. If they didn't, were they explicitly told by superiors not to aim for medics?
Japanese snipers were trained to kill anyone with a red cross in the belief that killing a corpsman(medic) would also kill the 10 Marine's he was going to save.
