I checked the book list on the sidebar and nothing caught by eye.
When I was young I had a book full of Norse myths and tales like Sigurd the Dragon Slayer and Loki plotting mischievous shit. I used to love reading it before bed.
The Wiki just whetted my appetite.
What's a great, perhaps entry level or gateway book/source into these stories and their origins?

If you're willing to read some well-written academic prose, you would probably enjoy Neil Price, The Viking Way. It's far from a perfect book, but it's very engaging (for an academic volume, at least) and blends archaeology and anthropology together with Scandinavian mythology to paint a really suggestive picture of what Viking religion / cosmology might have looked like.
