Yes. If I may say so, you seem to be thinking that European imperialism in East Asia began in the 20th century. Not the case at all, there were many wars between China/Korea/Japan and European powers in the 19th century, the principal including, in non-chronological order:

• First Opium War: 1839 - 1842
• Second Opium War: 1856 - 1860
• Shimonoseki Campaign: 1863 - 1864
• Cochinchina Campaign: 1858 - 1862
• United States expedition to Korea: 1871
• Sino-French War: 1884 - 1885
• The Yihetuan movement or Boxer Rebellion began in 1899

If we go a bit further back, we have a few more, two I can immediately think of right now being:

• Siege of Fort Zeelandia: 1661 - 1662
• Sino-Russian border conflicts: 1652 - 1689. Also involved Korea.
