Hey all, me and my buddy where having a discussion, and he says that Nazi's and Japan never had any contact. Could you please provide me with source material proving Japan and Germany had an alliance and were in contact with each other.
Well the big one obviously would be the Tripartite Pact, which was the formal alliance, signed in Berlin in Sept 1940 between Italy, Germany, and Japan. It was essentially the formal membership in the Axis, as Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria all also signed eventually.
But if you mean something like actual military cooperation the closest were two things. 1 was a series of UBoats voyages to deliver rare materials, blue prints, and other high value cargo to Japan. And a series of UBoats (and even some Italian boats) which upon operating in the Indian Ocean eventually came to operate out of Japanese bases and were even taken over by IJN crews upon the surrender of Germany. Collectively these were known as the Monsoon Group.
