Which would you recommend?
Single best book would be "The Tycoons: How Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Jay Gould, and J. P. Morgan Invented the American Supereconomy". The notable exception is that it doesn't have Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt was one/two generations removed from all the other guys you have listed. He fought various stock market battles with Jay Gould (conceding defeat in the end).
