How was Domestic Abuse handled when it happend in the marriage of people from 2 different noble houses? How did the church treat domestic abuse since there is no "divorce"?

Lets give it a time period, Lets say during the Musket and Bayonet age-Napoleon age, around 18th +, That should give us some reliable records.

I'm no expert, so I'm just offering my impression based on readings in medieval history. A high ecclesiastic might be called upon to intervene, but really only to encourage the husband not to be so violent. If the wife was lucky, she might be able to return to her family. Or she might retreat from her husband into a convent or a country estate, or some other type of isolation. But generally, the wife was SOL. It was considered her duty to obey her husband.
