I'm looking into Indigenous history, and I'm wondering if there is one particular collection on the various tribal histories. I know these are immense and varied, but I'm wondering if in Australian Indigenous Studies there is a text (or set of texts) that are held above others.
Not doing an assignment/research, just curious about looking into this topic, and wondering if anyone here happens to be an expert and could lead me in the right direction (or at least a good starting point)

Definitive no, there are hundreds if not a 1000+ tribes originally in Australia. Not all were well documented. It depends which side you are interested in, the view of the colonials or Aboriginal people writing about their own specific tribe/language.
