I've been doing some research on my friend's grandfather, who served on a US ship as a radioman during the Battle of Leyte gulf. Having a full list of the US ships involved (I know there's 150+, but I'm willing to comb through them) would help me tremendously. Thank you!
Take a look at Samuel Eliot Morison "History of United States Naval Operations in World War II" Volume 12 "Leyte: June 1944 - January 1945". This book has a complete order of battle for the Third Fleet and the Seventh Fleet during the invasion of Leyte.
