I was reading the old Presentism Roundtable thread and came across this comment which contains in it the idea that the gap between lay and academic understanding of history results in a basic mis- or under-use of academic history and historians.
With that in mind, what is the question or idea that you wish someone would ask about (either in person, in a class, or here on the sub) that you rarely or never hear? What is the topic or idea that you have ten pages of notes on, ready to break out for the one person that dares ask?

I'm more of a general knowledge guy (see my past posts) than a specific subject. But, I'd really love someone to ask about European countries that do not exist or are parts of other countries now like Bohemia, Muscovy, Novgorod, Galicia, Aragon, etc.
