It's a pretty long book at around 1000 pages that gives a survey of the more strategic level decisions and motivations of each leader. There were two editions published, one around 1993 and another in the early 2000s... I just can't remember the name and it's driving me crazy as I would like to read it again. I think it has a red cover if I remember correctly and was pretty highly acclaimed on release. Thanks for any help!
Not sure, but could it be Brute Force: Allied Strategy and Tactics in the Second World War?
Maybe Warlords? It has a red back cover.
