inspired by GOT's recent Ramsey "20 good men" scene. could you really disrupt a major siege with such tactics and/or where there any interesting policies put in place by the attackers or defenders to respond to or exploit this?
I haven't seen the scene in question so if you could expand a little bit more on what you mean by small unit raiding tactics that would be great. I'll try to answer from there.
Also for ideas about siege warfare in general I would recommend reading the prologue of Siege Warfare: The Fortress in the Early Modern World 1494-1660 by Christopher Duffy. It should give you an overview of how sieges were conducted during the late medieval period, which seems to be the era most of GOT is based upon.
