Why does Catholicism have such a strong foothold in Poland?

by [deleted]

I have been trying to find articles as to why this is! It's so interesting, but there's so much to learn about this topic. Lately my buddy & I have been looking at demographics in Poland and the Polish diaspora. We found that Catholicism is deeply rooted in Polish culture everywhere. We wanted to know why. Could you give us a few starting points or explanation?

Thanks so much for your time, r/askhistorians! :D
