How much people die from Artillery fire during World Wars?

by Bortasz

I remember that I found some time ago articles that claim that Artillery kill 65% of all combat casualties during WW1 and around 40% during WW2.
Sadly I cannot find this articles anymore.
Does anybody have sources on how much Artillery kill during WW?

J. Ellis in his The Sharp End of War has a table showing the statistics of casualty causation in the British Army between 1939 and 1945, as follows:

Mortar, grenade, bomb, shell ...........75%

Bullet, Anti-tank shell................................10%

mine & booby trap...........................10%

Blast and crush.................................2%

Chemical..........................................2%

other................................................1%

Taking this one sample as representative, artillery caused the vast majority of casualties in the second world war.
