How important was the Magna Carta compared to other historical documents and treaties?

On its 800th anniversary, could we discuss the importance of this?

I was going to save these for the 'What's New in History' weekly thread but this seems as useful a place to have them:

The 800th anniversary has resulted in a wonderful amount of new research, including projects such as Magna Carta Project and just today a series of academic articles have been released by the English Historical Review and more from other Oxford publications. I highly recommend Nicholas Vincent's new review essay as a starting point with familiarising yourself with the history of the study of the Charter and its wider signifcance to British and world history.

Could I tag along here and ask our medievalists for their opinion of Robert Sumption's brilliantly entertaining debunking of the myth of Magna Carta here https://www.supremecourt.uk/docs/speech-150309.pdf
