I was wondering if anyone has previously read this biography and could tell me how historically accurate it is. I know askhistorians sets a very high standard, and I'd appreciate the opinion here more then amazon reviews.
Its the best English language biography of Manstein available, by a long shot.
I do feel the author, near the end specifically, goes to far in trying to insulate Manstein against war crimes. But besides that its a very good biography.
